Britain's leader is expected to urge allies to deliver Ukraine with more extended-range weaponry to strike Moscow's positions during a meeting in Britain on this Friday.

The prime minister will host Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky alongside the so-called "coalition of the willing", consisting of over twenty of Kyiv's partners who have agreed to grant the Ukrainian government protection commitments once fighting stops is negotiated.

Zelensky has been pleading for weeks for more long-range weapons from allied countries, an action that the Russian government has warned would worsen the conflict.

The Ukrainian president is coming from Belgium, where he met European Union officials on yesterday requesting economic assistance.

"The sole individual participating in this conflict who declines to end the conflict is Vladimir Putin," Starmer stated.
